Hi Audrey, nice to see more female members around!

As far as I know, you should only have to wait around for a half an hour or so for the tests to be completed. I don't see why someone else couldn't bring the car in for testing, assuming they are insured to drive it in the first place! :)

You can find a list of the NCT centres here on eForecourt in the NCT section (http://www.eforecourt.com/nct/nctall.htm). This should be helpful in finding your nearest test centre. Alternatively, you can phone the NCTS head office on 1890 200 670.

So do you expect your car to pass with flying colours then?

I suppose it can be hard on motorists pockets to ensure that that cars being tested are in good enough shape to pass; but then again the upside of all this is (hopefully) safer cars on our roads, leading to fewer fatalities. And who doesn't want that then?

So when the test being taken Audrey?

Best of luck anyways, and, make sure you yet us know how you get on!

i brought it to a garage and the guy said that i dont need to get the test done till my tax is up- which is august... so that gives me a bit more time.... i got nice new nitrogen filled tires, but the tracing has to be done again!!! but thigs are looking positive for the test!

dont worry ill let you know how i get on!
:)

Someone told me you can tax a car for three months without an NCT-cert.
