When purchasing a new car that doesn't have alloy wheels as standard, is it better to buy the manufacturers alloy wheels off the dealer, or would you hang on and purchase them elsewhere? In general, are the main-dealers alloy wheel sets more expensive for less? What makes of alloy wheels do you recommend, and where's the best place to purchase them within the Dublin area?

Why spend £500 more on a set of alloys that loads of other people have on their own cars and that just look OK?? Go to Pro Racing (Newlands Cross) and pick out a set yourself - you get what YOU want.

Remember a car is an extension of your personality!!

There is also a place in Carlow that Trades in Second Hand Alloys, and a place beside the square in Tallaght.

BrianF is the place in Tallaght a good place to trade in bmw alloys for new ones?

While were on the subject, can anyone tell me how to keep my alloys clean. It's impossible to get the dirt or grease or whatever it is off when using the jetwash. I never seem to had this problem with the Honda. I have noticed that other bmw's seem to suffer with the same problem.

Any answers out there??
