Well Lads & Lassies,
Autumn is almost setting in. I hope you make use of the last of the Summer weather.
I was wondering if anyone has been trying my tips and what they thought of the results?
I just spent a while browsing another Forum (sorry..I was bored). Just a bit curious to what they were saying about car care. I saw some strange sh1t being recommended. The likes of White Spirits to Brillo pads to WD40 going on the cars of m@t@rn#t readers. Good luck to them.
I'm going to do an engine valet at the weekend. I'll let you know how I get on.
Have a good weekend.

........... Please don't use BRILLO PADS for cleaning alloy rims ...... aaaarrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Fecking 'admin of another site' & his suggestion....... like skate son ice :(
Please use a proper brake dust remover or tar remover to clean alloys INSIDE & out. Take 'em & do it right
:D
As for polishing, Brian S I bow to YOUR knowledge.

I read all the recommendations all right, and they are all indeed all very informative. I intend on giving my car a good clean before the winter truly kicks in. I haven't waxed her in a while (the car that is ;) ), and the interior needs a good hovering and dust'N'shine. Also the windows need a good bit of attention.
So how's about a quick checklist of products you use for the following, and the best you've come across?
Car Wash - Which one removes grime the best and keeps its suds longest? I use Simonez (sp?).
Car WAX - Has anyone got a recommendation on which car WAX lasts the longest? Can't remember the make I last used, but its usually turtle.
Window Cleaner - I usually use a basic household window cleaner. Is this wise on a car? Which product protects against grease build-up the best?
Interior - OK so a hover's a hover IMHO. But what about dusting and shining the interior? I currently use Simons CockPit Shine (here we go again! :p ). Or even Mr. Sheen on occasions when I run out of that.
Any other products I should use?

What colour Car do you have, Whiplash?
Also, would you say the paint is in good condition? Any scratches, swirls etc. Where are they & how deep?
In what way do the windows need attention? Dull? Rough to the touch?
What kind of interior? Leather, Vinyl, Plastic? & What kind of dirt? Just dust or other stains? (not too much detail on the stains, please!!)
(memories of the old joke, Where to Female Pilots sit? answers on a postcard .....)

Jez, I never released car care products could be so specific!!
The colour is officially metallic red, but I'd say metallic wine. The paint is in good condition as its a fairly new car, except for one or two very small scratch marks which are not that deep. The rear of the car has had a few reverse parking knocks I guess (they were there when I bought it second-hand, honest!), which has left the rear bumper minus a small portion of paint (its colour co-ordinated).
The windows simply need a good cleaning, inside and out. Just smudge marks really on the inside and a build-up of grime/grease on the outside. The only recent cleaning they’ve had is via the washer/wiper system, which contains a mixture of water and window wash liquid (Holts I think).
The interior seats are cloth, and the dash plastic with a strip of wood, which is probably fake being a Jap car (Honda Accord). The dirt would be just superficial dust on the plastics and general dust/dirt on the carpet mats. No stains exist on the seats yet, but when the baby decides to redecorate the upholstery design I’ll let you know :clown:
