Does anyone out there have black plastic bumpers which have white scuffs from previous waxings?

I don't have access to this problem at the moment, but I have just been given a solution to try. I'm not willing to put wax on my bumper just in case, but the solution is supposed to work. If anyone is willing to try something for me, I'd be interested in knowing the result. It will be completely harmless if it doesn't work and there's a 90% chance you already have the product to use at home.

Any takers? Send me a PM.......

Take Care Out There.

I have some red scratch marks on my front bumper. Will this product remove this aswell. If you think so, I could send you a PM.

Let me know.

What kind of mark is it, Phil?

Is it a wax residue? Or something like that colour restorer (can't remember the name).

Or maybe red paint off another vehicle?

What type of bumper - smooth or grainy finish?

Just trying to get the picture......

Hi BrianS,

It's paint from a gate. They are smooth black plastic bumpers that protect the painted section of the bumper. I hope this makes sense.

Its a tough one, this. Especially if its something like Hammerite. I think I can solve this one for you cheaply anyway, but let me double-check it for you before I give the info.

I'll update you over the next day or two, Phil.

The garage that waxed my wife’s car last was a tad overzealous with the car wax. As far as I can remember, theres surplus wax on both the plastic bumper and rubber window trim.

PM me the details Brian and if the white marks are still there I’ll give it a try.

BTW, I used to have red marks on the side rubber trim on one of my previous cars. It was caused by brushing against one of those red road cones. No matter how hard I tried to wash the damn stuff off, I could never get rid of it!

No, I have to try this myself first. If I tell anyone this and it turns out to be untrue, I'll lose all credibility!!

I'll drop you a PM over the next few days, Whiplash.

Well Brian, considering I was going to try it out on the wifes car, that might not be a bad idea!

No problem BrianS, I'll wait with bated breath to hear what you have in mind for my car.

Heh, maybe Brian will be sneaking out in the middle of the night and trying it on the neighbours car instead! :clown:

BTW Brian, I sent you a PM, did you get it?

Lads,

I sent you PMs there.

Cheers,

Brian.
