I thought I'd start a dedicated thread to this product since it sounds so interesting and allusive in Ireland.

Firstly, looks like this is an edible product. Apparently its used for the likes of shining fruits and chocolates. Have a read of this EU article on a study of its consumption (http://www.europa.eu.int/comm/food/fs/sc/scf/out94_en.pdf).

OK, now on to the more serious side - finding a product in Ireland that has Carnauba wax. I managed to find the following information on such products. If anyone knows any more products, or had tried any of these, please let is know.

Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (http://www.meguiarsireland.com/pro/index.html?target=Paint_ShopProtecting.html)
This can be purchased online. The blurb says:
"Enhances the depth of your car's color. This unique professional-gradeformulation blends premium yellow Carnauba wax with silicones, polymers and other specialty waxes It provides maximum high gloss protection while it actually deepens your paint color. No wonder Hi-Tech Yellow Wax is the professional's choice! Made For Professionals"

Heterochem(Dist) Ltd (http://www.heterochem.com/prod_general.htm)
An Irish distribution company listing the wax on their product list.

O.P. Products Limited (http://www.op-products.com/op_products/products.html)
An Irish distribution company listing the wax on their product list.

Meguiars have a good reputation but it looks like the guy importing them is suffering as a result of Shipping, VAT & Tariffs on these products. Some pretty exhorbitant prices. I saw his address on their website, he's out in Kildare somewhere. Fair Play! He's making the most of the dot-com era!

I might splash out when I'm feeling a bit more affluent!

One thing you should know about Carnauba products is that the Carnauba evaporates a lot faster than regular wax or polymer wax. For someone like me though, who waxes very regularly, it wouldn't matter!

Later,

B.
