Help,
I need to get some information on a bike I am currently restoring.
It is a 1974 Yamaha TX 500 otherwise known as the XS 500.
Does anybody have any info on where I can get a workshop manual and any help in locating parts would be a big help.
E mail me at
oconnor40@hotmail.com
or send me a pm on this site.
Many Thanks.

Sorry bfm, don't know that model. Was it a single? If so I saw some material on Amazon relating to old Yam singles that might be applicable.

Bfm, there's a chap over at Totalbikebits that was selling a '75 XS 500 for parts last month. He may have some left but certianly he would be a good contact for information...here's the link.

Thanks a lot Technician.
Up to now I have had absolutely no luck tracing the workshop manual for the XS.I have registered on the totalbikebits forum(never even knew it existed)
and sent the guy Geoff a PM so hopefully I might be able to come to some arrangement.
The XS 500 was one of the first double overhead cam 8 valve twins to go into production and in my opinion helped lead to the downfall of the Triumph.
I just love the sound of them but on saying that they were not one of the most reliable bikes and as such their popularity wained a little.
Many Thanks
BFM.
