View Full Version : wanted: body repair shop : dublin
Honda Civic, black, 1996. Unfortunate contact with pillar left it dented and scratched.
Wanted: body repair shop & paint shop to repair - good colour matching essential.
Any suggestions - preferably near Dublin city centre-ish.
This is coming out of my own pocket - so non-insurance prices a bonus :)
Also any suggestions on what I need to look for/ask of a repair shop would be appreciated.
TIA.

Hi gmc. What an unfortunate incident, one we all hate to encounter. Its unbelievable how such minor looking damage can really cost :( .
You could always try the Irish Body Shop site at http://www.irishbodyshops.com/ for some information on recognised companies. I suppose getting a few quotes together from a couple of these places might find you a good deal.
I know you are looking for somewhere in the city centre, but I have used a place in Tallaght before – Pat Denning’s (01-4909830). I found their work to be exceptional, if not a little on the expensive side (you pay for what you get I suppose). A lot of main dealers sub-contract their bodyshop work out to them too, which is a good indication.
Let us know how you get on with different quotes, and perhaps give us a few recommendations based on your experience.
Hope this helps – good look with the repair expenses, I feel you’re going to need it!
Hi GMC,
Welcome to the forum.
One garage that comes to mind, is the one that Rathdown Motors use. It's a small garage near Rathgar Village. They specialise in Honda's. I brought my Honda Prelude to them before and they were quick, friendly and they did'nt cost the earth.
They are on one of the backroads near the village. I try and dig out the name and address of the place for you.
Try the Accident Repair Centre in Tallaght.
Excellent quality, Price unsure, but worth checking.
They do all the repairs for Ballbidge motors
Thanks to all who replied.
Honda dealers were the worst - £600+ or a new door. In don't think so.
Found Body Craft Repairs off the North Strand. They had several hondas in the forecourt, and the guy said they were a hobby of his. He also knew the correct location of a re-inforcing/safety strut in the door - unlike one of the dealers.
The price of £300 was about average. That combined with the knowledge/interest they showed swung it for me.
I'm taking it in next week.
A curse on all concrete pillars.
Gary
Good stuff Gary,
Let us know what type of job they did on the car and if you were happy with what you got.
