Here's a small question for you knowledgeable people!

While driving this morning I happened to be behind a beautiful porche 911 carrera with the reg. no "00 D 911" and just wondered to myself how hard was it for that person to get that reg. no.

Does anyone know how you would go about getting this kind of reg. no and how hard it would be?

Porsche 911, what a great car, and a very suitable reg!

I hadn’t seen such a reg in a while, and by sheer coincidence I saw two of them only yesterday!

The first, which I'd seen before on Pearse St., was a Merc E55 AMG. I spotted in it a rather upmarket northside residence near the Phoenix park. And the reg? 01 D 555.

The other one I saw was rather less exciting. It was a BMW 318, reg 01 D 318. Now if it had of been a 328, then fair enough

You can pre-book a reg number from the Revenue. It costs £250, which is quite cheap IMHO. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to get one for say a Mazda 323 ;)

For more information, see the Revenues Guide on reserving a Registration Number (http://www.revenue.ie/services/vrt/vrt_5.htm).
