I’ve been hearing predictions that the minister for Finance will be increasing the vat on motor fuel. It’s bad enough that we have incredibly expensive petrol due to already high duties levied on it, but to have it increased! :(

Anyone else have any other predictions? Will VRT increase? What about Road Tax (could figure)??

The main proposals made by the SIMI are:

Reduce VRT by 2.5%
Introduce VRT Equalisation measure
Abandon policies bases on discredited EPA data
Reject any proposed fuel duty increase
Abolish 2% levy on insurance
No BIK on car parking

There are some really interesting facts in this document, its well worth the read!...
