It seems Finnish speeding fines are proportional to the drivers income. Seems fair enough to me, and its a serious deterent when you're on the board of Nokia and earning €14 million a year:D

Sounds like a good idea to me. Alot of the higher salaries are immune to speeding fines. They can pay £50 fines till the cows come home.
While where on this point, does anyone know if the penalty point system started this year?

I too agree that pro-rata speeding fines should be introduced. The higher someone earns, the higher the speeding fine. And why not? Hit them where it hurts I say.
I haven't heard anything about the Penalty Points System yet Phil. I'd image that its introduction will be matched with heavy advertising in the media. This measure will certainly cut down on speeding and dangerous/reckless driving too, I hope.
